As per the guidelines of UGC, NAAC and Honorable Supreme Court, Prevention of Sexual
Harassment of Women at workplace, Women Cell and Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell
has been established in the college to provide a healthy and conducive Environment to the
female staff members and students of the College.
Composition
As per the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Work Place (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act), The Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women, Women Cell and Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell comprising members with a senior faculty member as the Convener. The present constitution of Women’s Cell is as follows:

Objectives
- To Ensuring a Safe and Secure Work Environment – Creating a workplace free from harassment, intimidation, and discrimination to promote women’s safety and well being.
- Awareness and Sensitization – To conduct workshops, seminars, and awareness programme on sexual harassment, gender sensitization, and legal rights
- To Educate students and employees about POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) Act, 2013 and other legal protections
- Promoting Gender Equality – Fostering an environment of mutual respect and equal opportunities for all, regardless of gender.
- Grievance Redressal Mechanism -To follow permanent mechanism for the prevention of sexual harassment cases and other act of gender-based violence at the college and Provide a safe and confidential platform for women to report cases of harassment. Ensure timely investigation and resolution of complaints following due process. Offer counselling and emotional support for victims.
- Ensure adequate security measures, such as well-lit campuses, CCTV surveillance, and female security personnel.
Procedure for Complaints
- The College Women’s Cell handle cases of sexual harassment to ensure a safe and harassment-free environment. Below is the standard procedure to file a complaint.
- An aggrieved person is required to submit a written complaint to the Prevention of Sexual Harassment of Women, Women Cell and Legal Awareness Committee within three months from the date of the incident. Provided that where such a complaint cannot be made in writing, the Chairperson or any member of the committee shall render all reasonable assistance to the person for making the complaint in writing or can email the complaint to the college email address: lbascwomencell@gmail.com
- The committee members investigate the cases and act upon the cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents/proof, if any
- The committee assures that the complaint has been properly addressed to and redressed in the stipulated time limit.
Activities
- Our college has been putting efforts in spreading awareness about the very cause among our women students, keeping in mind their safety at utmost priority. ∙ The Committee members watching around the college during college hours has increased to ensure the better safety of the women students.
- The helpline numbers are also displayed in the college campus so that the police can be contacted immediately in case of eve teasing.
