National Scheme Service [ NSS] Special Camp was organized by Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College from 15th March to 21st March 2024 at Athivakkam panchayat, Acharapakkam Block, Chengalpattu district.
Seventh day, 21.03.2024, Thursday
On the Seventh day morning, students cleaned the Mosque premises and Village Service Center premises. Oak trees were removed. Later, an awareness rally was conducted on plastic eradication, consumer awareness, anti-drug abuse and road safety. Also awareness was given about leprosy.
After the lunch break, the valedictory ceremony of the NSS Special Camp was held. NSS Assistant Programme Officer Dr.S.Sivaraj, welcomed everyone at the valedictory ceremony. NSS Program Officer G.Babu read out the special camp report. College Principal Dr.R.S.Venkatesan delivered the keynote address. Special invitee Dr. K Ganesan, Retired Principal, Government Arts College, Phumbukar gave an inspirational address to the students. The special guest Mr. M. Saravanan NSS Nodal Officer, Chengalpattu district, delivered a special speech on drug addiction and awareness. Panchayat Union President, Vice President and School Headmaster felicitated the programme. On behalf of the NSS, the College Principal distributed sports equipment to the students of Athivakkam Primary School. Also, a mime and cultural program was done by NSS students on the prevention of road accidents. Finally the NSS Programme Officer thanked everyone.
Conclusion:
During the NSS Special Camp of Athivakkam, NSS volunteers were Eger and associated with one another to help the people and they created awareness among them such as Traffic rules, Anti-Drug Abuse, Avoiding plastic usage, General health and hygienics, Rural cultivation, Tree plantation, HIV/AIDS and Environmental pollution, etc. Games and cultural were conducted through NSS team to the school students to make them shine in their education.
