National Voters’ Day Pledge 2026

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College, Melmaruvathur organised the “National Voters’ Day Pledge” programme on 23rd January 2026 at 11.00 a.m. at the LBASC Campus, with the objective of creating awareness among students about the importance of voting and strengthening democratic values.

The programme was conducted under the able guidance of the respected Principal, Dr. R. S. Venkatesan, and was organised and coordinated by the NSS Programme Officer, Dr. S. Sivaraj, along with the Assistant NSS Programme Officer, Dr. S. Seetharaman. The programme witnessed active and enthusiastic participation from 500 students and 30 faculty members, making the event vibrant and meaningful.

The National Voters’ Day Pledge was administered by the respected Principal, Dr. R. S. Venkatesan, who, in his address, emphasized the importance of ethical voting, voter registration, and responsible citizenship in a democratic nation. All participants solemnly pledged to uphold the democratic traditions of the country and to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by caste, religion, community, language, or any inducement.

The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of creating awareness among students about voter registration and their constitutional duties as responsible citizens. It also instilled a strong sense of civic responsibility and reinforced the core values of democracy among the participants. The event concluded with a vote of thanks.

The NSS Unit gratefully acknowledges and thanks the NSS Cell, University of Madras, for their constant encouragement, guidance, and support in organising this meaningful programme. The programme was a grand success.
