DISTRIBUTION OF ECI FORM 6 FOR VOTER REGISTRATION 2025

National Service Scheme (NSS) of Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College, Melmaruvathur, organised a Voters Awareness Programme titled “Distribution of ECI Form 6 for Voter Registration” on 26th December 2025 at 02.30 p.m. in the Smart Class Room.

Dr. R. S. Venkatesan, Principal, Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College, Melmaruvathur, presided over the programme and delivered the presidential address. In his address, he emphasized the importance of voter registration and responsible participation in the democratic process. He encouraged students to understand their electoral rights and duties and motivated them to actively contribute to nation-building by exercising their right to vote. He also appreciated the efforts of the NSS unit in organizing the awareness programme for the benefit of the student community.

The programme was graced by two distinguished Chief Guests: Thiru. S. Venkatachalam, Electoral Registration Officer, No. 034, Cheyyur (SC) Assembly Constituency and District Supply and Consumer Protection Officer, Chengalpattu, and Thiru. S. Ganesan, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer, No. 034, Cheyyur (SC) Assembly Constituency and Tahsildar, Cheyyur.

During the programme, the Chief Guests emphasized the importance of voter registration and ethical voting practices. They explained the significance of ECI Form 6 and guided students on the procedure for enrolling as voters. The speakers also highlighted the crucial role of youth in strengthening democratic values and encouraged students to actively participate in the electoral process.

The programme witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 200 students and 10 staff members. The students actively interacted with the resource persons and gained valuable knowledge about their electoral rights and responsibilities. The awareness session proved to be informative and motivating.

The programme successfully fulfilled its objective of creating awareness among students about voter registration and their constitutional duties as responsible citizens. The programme was organised and coordinated by the NSS Programme Officer, Dr. S. Sivaraj, and Assistant NSS Programme Officer, Dr. S. Seetharaman, whose effective planning and guidance ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
