Awareness Programme on Drug Free Tamilnadu-Mobile App

The NSS Unit and Anti-Drug Club of Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College, Melmaruvathur, organised an awareness programme on “Drug Free Tamil Nadu – Mobile App” on 09.12.2025 at 11.00 AM in the LBASC Auditorium.

Our Principal Dr. R. S. Venkatesan delivered the Presidential Address, insisting the importance of youth involvement in building a drug-free society.

Mr. P. Jawaharkumar, M.A., MBA., Inspector of Police, Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Maduranthakam, served as the Chief Guest. He addressed the students on the harmful effects of drug abuse, the legal consequences, and the role of youth in creating a drug-free society. He also explained the features and importance of the Drug Free Tamil Nadu mobile application.

Head Constable V. Dharman explained the features of the Drug Free Tamil Nadu Mobile App, focusing on the complaint-raising procedure for reporting drug-related issues.

Constable B. Kumaresan took the Drug Abuse Pledge, encouraging all participants to stay committed to a drug-free life.

The event was organised and coordinated by Dr. S. Sivaraj, NSS & Anti-Drug Club Coordinator motivated the students to actively participate in anti-drug initiatives.

More than 200 students and 40 professors actively participated in the programme, making it a highly successful and impactful event.

Drawing Competition on the theme “Youth for a Drug-Free Tamil Nadu” was conducted, and certificates and mementos were awarded to the prize winners.

The programme concluded with strengthened awareness and collective commitment towards building a Drug-Free Tamil Nadu.
