One Crore Palm Seeds Plantation

Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College National Service Scheme organized the One Crore Palm Seeds Plantation programme on 01.10.2023 at Kadappakkam Beach in Edaikkazhinadu municipality. Nearly, one thousand seeds were planted by thirty-two students.

On 1st October 2023, Tamilnadu Palm Workers Welfare Board, Green Needa Environment and State NSS organized a programme to plant one crore palm seeds at 430 places in 14 coastal districts on the occasion of the centenary of Muththamizharignar Dr.Kalaingar.

On behalf of Lakshmi Bangaru Arts and Science College National Service Scheme, a one crore palm seeds plantation programme was held at Kadapakkam beach.  Earlier, Cheyyur VC- MLA Babu took part in the palm seeds plantation programme held on behalf of the ‘Yadum Ure’ organization at Panaiyur Kuppam village and inaugurated the palm tree plantation ceremony.

Later, the college Principal Dr R.S. Venkatesan presided over and inaugurated in the Kadapakkam beach.  In the presence of NSS Programme Officer Prof. G. Babu, 32 students participated and planted around one thousand palm seeds. Also, non-teaching staff members of the college Mrs. S. Bhavani and Ms. H. Abhirami participated and planted palm seeds. Edaikazhinadu Municipal Ward Councillor Mr. M. Bhaskar was present there and he appreciated the students who planted palm seeds in many places of coastal area.

Conclusion

Students planted palm seeds till 1:30 p.m. Later on, Mr Bharathi, the coordinator of the one crore palm seeds plantation programme in Edaikkazhinadu municipality, thanked all of them. The students participated and got a memorable moment. Thus they felt excited by attending the programme.
